Here is resounding evidence that Trevor Powers has a flawless live voice, and sound’s exactly like the studio recording.

Here’s another beautiful film directed and edited by Brendan Canty and Conal Thomson of Feel Good Lost.

I’m not sure what demands the greater focus here. The music, or the video? Each aspect relies on the other, the subtly swelling cinematic score is indeed imperative to the emotional delivery of the short film.

Since December 18th 2010, when she released a video for ‘The Last Living Rose’, PJ Harvey has slowly but steadily been posting videos online for every single song on her latest album Let England Shake, with the final film being released yesterday.

Award-winning photographer Seamus Murphy produced the shorts – containing reportage footage shot around England and performance footage of Harvey.

In an interview with Slant magazine, Murphy cites details of how the pair came to work together:

TV On The Radio – You

Album closer “Grown Ocean” has just had the documentary footage treatment from lead singer Robin’s video-savvy brother Sean Pecknold, and it’s a nostalgic reflection of the album’s recording process emulating the song’s dream-like and halcyon ingredients. “In that dream I could hardly contain it,” Pecknold sings. “All my life I will wait to attain it.”

The Radio Dept. - Clinging to a Scheme, 2010

Swedish pop label Labrador is home to usually dormant The Radio Dept., a sparkly shiny indie trio whose marvellous third album Clinging to a Scheme was released in April this year. Notable dub-inspired album track ‘Never Follow Suit’ has just had visual art treatment from director Jens Henricson, his collage inspired flick emulating the song’s heavy bass and hazy soundscape.
